Meet Rich

I am passionate about education. As a first-generation American, I learned from my family the value of a good education toward achieving the American Dream in this great country that we are honored to call home. I strongly believe that a community cannot be great unless it has a great school system. My children attended Boerne ISD schools for all thirteen years of their primary and secondary education. I am committed to seeing that future generations of Boerne children receive the same excellent education that my children received, and I will go anywhere, anytime to advocate for them.

It’s been an honor to serve our community. I pledge to continue working hard for our students, supporting our outstanding teachers and staff and being a responsible steward of taxpayer dollars.

I support continued academic excellence and expansion of educational opportunities for our students, including Career and Technical, while maintaining fiscal responsibility and being a responsive, engaged representative of the community.

As a volunteer reader in our schools, participating in BISD’s Student Mentor Program, and as a Sunday School teacher at my church, I am passionate about education and committed to our youth.

I’m proud of BISD’s many recent accomplishments. In 2019 the district was recognized as the “Best Small School District in Texas.” In 2020, BISD was one of the first districts in the state to return to in class instruction and is one of only a few Texas districts to achieve full recovery of state accountability scores. This year we commenced Pathways in Early College High School in cybersecurity and are planning for a health career early college program in 2024-25.

If re-elected, I will continue to support our educational focus on the basics of reading, writing, and arithmetic, while also promoting sound and traditional values that reflect our community.

For eleven consecutive years, BISD has received a Superior Rating from Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas, and also received a Gold Star from Texas Comptroller Glen Hegar for financial transparency.

We’re also proud to be one of only 30 districts in Texas (out of 1025) that offers a discount for early payment of property taxes, saving local taxpayers $3 million this year.

We have lowered our Maintenance and Operations Tax Rate from $1.04 to $0.854 since 2019 and will continue to work closely with legislators to enact priorities adopted by BISD Trustees, including property tax relief and an increase in state funding for education, both of which will help reduce or eliminate BISD’s Robin Hood payment.

I would greatly appreciate your support in my campaign as I look forward to continued service to our wonderful community.
